Galerita Rincón

The tiniest gallery in Baja invites you to take a peek inside!

Galerita Rincón is a tiny gallery with a simple idea: small spaces can hold big work. Its rotating mini exhibitions each spotlight a single artist with work that rewards a closer look. The scale keeps everything personal, and there’s always something new to discover. Rincón means “corner” or “nook,” and the gallery is exactly that: a small corner of the Baja desert where art and nature meet.

CURRENT EXHIBITION:

El Sol y El Torote by Jenni Ward

The inaugural exhibition at Galerita Rincón is a series of tiny experiments in cyanotype, made with torote branches on handmade cotton paper. Each print captures the plant as a silhouette against a field of Prussian blue.

Torote (Bursera microphylla) is native to Baja and federally protected. Its twisted trunks and peeling bark have been used by Indigenous peoples for generations. Adaptable survivors of the harsh desert climate, these trees are a reminder that there is beauty in contrast.

OPEN CALL TO ARTISTS:

Galerita Rincón is the tiniest gallery in Baja, and we’re looking for artists who think small spaces can hold big work.

What We’re Looking For
A focused body of work, whether a small series, a single idea explored in several ways, or a set of related pieces. Painting, ceramics, sculpture, works on paper, mixed media, textile, photography, and small-scale installation are all welcome. Work that talks about the connection between art + nature is especially welcome.

About the Space
The gallery is intentionally tiny. Work should be sized and selected with that in mind, and we’re happy to talk through what fits.
